So, is it just me or is this thing a great big scam? This is the little "order pizza though me" picture you see on blogs / facebook profiles and what not. The idea being that you earn 0.5% commission on ever order placed though the widget.

Now excuse me however these sums don't add up for me. Say an average order value of £25, 0.5% of that is 12.5p. Therefore to pay back the £5 signup fee requires 40 people to order pizza, and then to start earning money requires even more. To be able to purchase the order of 25 you need to have convinced people to go to the bother of clicking your widget rather than going direct to dominos.co.uk 240 times.

Is this an utter waste of time?

Its a very clever marketing idea. I doubt many people are going to work out the sums before signing up.

You also have to have made £30 commission before you can withdraw any earnings. Ridiculous.

A matter of scale, small websites not worth it, large ones will raise a significant sum in time, like all affiliation schemes it's really for the big boys.
