Is there something I'm missing about Cameron's parliamentary ideas? He keeps saying they'll reduce the number of MPs by 10% and now he's talking about reducing the summer break, which I BELIEVE is the time they spend meeting their constituents (at least in theory). Can anyone tell me how this isn't something that'll leave the people worse represented and do very little to save money?
Knight knight
Cameron probably doesn't care about the actually impact of the policy he just knows it will go down well with the public. Many of whom think MP's get too much time off. I did think the short summer recess though was a one year thing. To allow them to get legislation through quicker.Sput wrote:Is there something I'm missing about Cameron's parliamentary ideas? I don't like the idea of reducing MP's. No doubt it will be those in more rural areas or with areas with greater problems that will be lost and mean the MP is of less use and less able to get out and meet more of their constituents. Also how do they ensure that the changes are fair to all parties?
I dont CARE about you NEE saying:
I thought I would give him a chance listen to what he has to say, as he speaking in Scotland. well I know David camron never cared for Scotland and this proved it. I have watched him in his event from East renfrewshire: ( Glasgow): what was he talking about? English stuff, telling people he will do this and that, yet he has no control over the areas he was talking about. I save this and I do that... how the SNP controls it all!
I bet Annabel Goldie is shaking her head in disberleef
Does he not know he will have NO control over any things that was coming out of his month, now really I expected better from him, I bet if he wins and speaks to sir alex he will get nasty shock. but it just proves at fact we already know which is shame!

The Conservatives plan to cut MP's by 10% is more than just making it look like they are "cutting the cost of politics", it would also mean a boundary review of all House of Commons seats, which the Tories would hope would reduce the bias to Labour in the system.

Surely the point of his campaigning there is that he hopes he WILL have control over these things? Is that not the whole point of an election?barcode wrote:I dont CARE about you NEE saying:

You seems to have mist the point, even IF he wins he WILL NOT control these things which are controlled Scottish parliament. If he comes back next year and stands in the Scottish Parliament elections then He has a chance of Controlling these things.all new Phil wrote:

unless you meaning how he directed these point to non Scottish viewers which begs the point why he was up in Scotland in the first place
