The new South Park episodes highlight this scenario beautifully with the question over the depiction of Mohammed, Prophet of the Muslim faith.

Islam itself, in my opinion, is no more or less "evil and wicked" than any form of organised religion; and just as the Catholic church unquestionably contains kiddy fiddlers and ex-Nazis, so the Muslim faith contains some less than holy characters who think its appropriate to kill people to ensure their place in the afterlife. Neither are representative of the religion itself though.

The question about "incitement to violence" only really cuts one way though - as I could do a skit about the Pope or a priest without fear of reprisals, where I couldn't necessarily do the same thing about the Prophet Mohammed without having my address posted on the interweb.

But hey ho - I have nothing I particularly want to say about either - as I wouldn't give them the oxygen of publicity.

Sometimes fighting for your right to say something isn't worth the effort - even on a matter of principle.

As to the rest - well I too question the "correctness" of positive discrimination on the grounds of sex or ethnicity - as I too grew up in a multiracial world.

But as I'm not one of those ethnicities I wouldn't want to say its entirely unnecessary, as I have no clue how difficult it is to gain a job from that perspective.

I wouldn't have thought racism is widespread in the UK; except of course for Hawaiians because they smell.

See you say you won't get killed for mocking the pope, but what if you began to offer late term abortions in the United States...

I've always been of the opinion that religion and colour are irrelevent, there are nice people and there are loons, and the loons will often claim that anyone who shares their X feature also shares their views.

Two phrases in the news I utterly hate are "moderate muslims," as if they're a minority compared to nutters. I mean you don't here the non-Stephen Green people described as "moderate Christians" do you? Also "community leaders," which to mean always translates as "busybodys"

There was a drunk woman at my Mum's Christmas party last year who systematically told everyone "religion is control". She's completely mad, but on that she's spot on.

I think that we need to remove any religious concessions there are in law and cut any remaining ties with any Church. We're indoctrinated to respect religions, but frankly they have done very little to deserve respect.
