So, metro's domain name is done with a separate company as dreamhost, for all they fabbyness, don't do .uk registrations.

However said company, the one who's name makes 2, were once total arses about something and were plain rude at the same time. I therefore I do not wish to continue business once the renewal comes up.

So who is a good .co.uk host, good as in cheap, good as in no hassle, good as in not infuriating when we get complained about by self righeous morons (it happens) and good as in just lets us set the DNS settings so they point to dreamhost and then leave us alone.

I'm tempted by 123-reg to be honest, any horror stories?

Answers on a postcard please.

I use daily.co.uk for TV Live - it's pretty cheap.

I would go for 123-reg. I have loads of domains registered with them and never have any problems.

I have a number of domains with 123-reg and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I've always used ukreg.com, super cheap, never had any problems, super control over the domain from nameservers, ip, whois info etc. Plus its like £2.50 a year or so.

I have a little experience looking after a few domains at work. Was with 123-reg for a while but they did something that infuriated me - can't remember what now. Been with UKreg & Fasthosts (same company) for 4-5 years now and never had any issues. The control panel is excellent and they have real people you can actually speak to 24/7 if you really want. Fast at replying to email as well - nice and friendly and a slight sense they really care.

another for Daily.co.uk. They are cheap and efficient with DNS setting and don't want you to sign up for 50 million other services. I used 123 last time, they were a good company, but they put their prices up a tad when it came to renewal, so I switched to daily (i am, after all, a cheapskate)

OK, I guess I'm going to be the first one to say this....

Are you a low paid indian worker being told to post vaguely relevant shite in order to hawk the wares linked-to in your signature without getting banned?
