It appears that I for one will be changing constituencies this time round. Boundary changes mean that I will be moved from Makerfield (safe Labour seat) to Wigan (another safe Labour seat). Meanwhile, Makerfield makes up for this by taking a chunk out of Leigh (yet another safe Labour seat). So instead of three safe Labour seats we have...er...three safe Labour seats with different boundaries.
Normally there'd be the issue of continuity, but as both Wigan's Neil Turner and Makerfield's Ian McCartney are retiring this time round that isn't really a problem to the electorate. Besides, they'll vote for whatever's got a red rosette on, judging by past results.
As a matter of interest, is anyone else here being moved around by boundary changes, or are you all staying put this time?
Boundary Changes.
Lots of changes in my current neck of the woods.
Two new seats covering York are being created: York Central (where I live)
and York Outer. The former is mainly comprised of the old City of York seat, the latter brings parts of the City of York, Vale of York, Selby and Ryedale seats.
Neighbouring seats have been affected; the remaining parts of Ryedale and Vale of York are now Thirsk and Malton and the remainder of the Selby constituency have become Selby and Ainsty.
Meanwhile, in my old stomping ground of Norn Irn, there's some chopping and changing in the four Belfast constituencies; including an unprecedent situation of an electoral ward being split between two constituencies.

Ours is going to be very interesting. Before we were in Brent East, which for years was Ken Livingstone's constituency and a safe Labour seat. However, he left to become Mayor and an unfortunately timed by-election in 2003 - just months after the Iraq war began - meant a surprise win for the Liberal Democrats, and Sarah Teather's been our MP ever since.
This election though we've been merged with Brent South, which was a safe Labour seat with Dawn Butler, and become Brent Central. Both Butler and Teather are contesting the new seat, so god knows what we'll be next month...

All of Cornwall's seats are new, the County returning six members instead of five at the forthcoming election. Seems strange that after all my life living literally on the edge of a constituency to now be almost in the centre of my new one.

I'm still where I was, Devizes, but our edges have been tinkered about with to form the new Chippenham constituency.
