So, most people I know have a Pet Peeve. And they can literally be anything, and today I pose the question to the Inter-Metropol Population, what are your Pet Peeves.
Share your disgust for those things that really get on your nerves, and argue with others about theirs. Personally, my Pet Peeve is how people drop litter in a street where they can be seen doing it. Just the other day, someone bent down, put their Can of Coke on the floor and walked off. I had to pick it up and recycle it of course.
Pet Peeves
For that, there's a line between acceptable and just annoying, as I will except a LOL & occasionally a Kl, but when they start talking like: WUU2, Yh I'm Gd, u? How r u? WTH, OMG, IDK - I just loose track of the conversation.Mattarz wrote:Hmmm.

Yeah, exactly. The worst thing is when adults do it. I'm sick of seeing my auntie on Facebook saying "O lol jst wnt 2 dnce clas wiv andy". Grrr.GMTV2009 wrote:For that, there's a line between acceptable and just annoying, as I will except a LOL & occasionally a Kl, but when they start talking like: WUU2, Yh I'm Gd, u? How r u? Oh I do hate Grammatical Errors, and am constantly pointing out it's Whoever and I not Me and Whoever! In fact, there's a Facebook Group for that!Malpass93 wrote:This. A thousand times this.Mattarz wrote:People who mix up your and you're.
And the "two", "to" and "too", too.
Poor grammar is probably my pet hate.
EDIT: Chatspeak is more acceptable with Children, even if it is wrong, but I agree that when someone's sixty they shouldn't be using smiley faces, hearts, Kl's and OMG's!
Another Peeve, when people miss out Capital Letters and full stops, so what they type looks like horrible drivel.
Not forgetting "their", "there" and "they're" of course.GMTV2009 wrote:Oh I do hate Grammatical Errors, and am constantly pointing out it's Whoever and I not Me and Whoever! The New Malpass.
Of course, what we're discussing is why some kids are called posh posh, because they don't go:Malpass93 wrote:

Alrigh' bruv, init, ur mum.
Translation - Hello Friend, isn't it, pointless insult here
NB: I believe 'Your Mum' is an insult, as that's what the hooligans near me walk round calling.

When I initially saw the thread title, I assumed it was regarding peeves about pets. I note that it is not.
I have been documenting mine on the web since November 2000; please feel free to pick one.

While we're on confused homophones, did anyone spot except/accept?GMTV2009 wrote: For that, there's a line between acceptable and just annoying, as I will except a LOL & occasionally a Kl, but when they start talking like: WUU2, Yh I'm Gd, u? (Sorry - couldn't resist!)
Mine? At present, car insurance. I resent having to pay twice the value of my car simply on the off-chance (which hasn't happened in eight years of driving) that I might crash into someone.
Before you ask about no-claims bonuses, as one of those years was spent in a taxi and three in classic cars, conventional companies simply don't want to know. They're all a cosy cartel keeping their prices as artificially inflated as they think they can get away with.
Council Tax is my second. The same principle applies - that of paying vastly inflated sums for next to nothing. Then again, it doesn't infuriate me quite so much now I'm no longer in a position to pay it. Still, I'll keep ranting on behalf of those that do.
