Ireland is (going to be) on Street View too!

Saw the red car driving around Galway around St. Patricks Day. Google are doing Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and err I can't remember the other one, but good good anyway. Nice that it saw these examples of Galway though:

So today they've updated streetview so everywhere is on it.

As amusing as looking at mummy's house is I am not impressed that they have kept half the old photos of Dundee.

When I saw it driving past my flat I slammed myself up against the window, however whilst the view approaching my flat is new, the one outside is an old pic. The shop down the road rebrands between photos.

All of Northern Ireland has been StreetViewed.

My favourite shot I've seen from playing around with it is a front view shot of my parents' house, taken on a sunny day with the cherry blossom trees in the garden in bloom and the petals not scattered all over the road. 'Tis gorgeous.

There should be a "find my car" feature where you type in your number plate and it finds where it's been photographed!

I was having a flick through Warrington on it then, I drove past the Opel Astra with the camera on top when it was by work, although I myself am not on Street view, but you can see my car on the works car park, closest I'll get I suppose.

Good to see online though.

I followed one of these cars a few months back, and always wondered whether/when that particular shot would be used.

For those that care, look up 4 Whiteacre, Wigan and make sure you're facing south. There should be a red 406 following you - though you can't see the driver, I assure you it's me.

More synthetic rage and anger. At first it made me sad to see such bullshit online, but then looking at the ridiculous suggestions about how paedos 'may' now stalk kids - it's so ludicrous it's actually quite funny.

I mean you really have to be quite unstable to imagine paedos trawling around Street View looking for a very rare chance to see an unfortunate image published, and then somehow getting so excited by it they take down the unmasked reg of a nearby car (also very rare on Street View). They then contact the DVLA to request the the address of the registered keeper - and having no good reason to do so they will either be refused or be breaking the law if they give a made-up reason to know.

End result - they possibly know the address of a house a child may live in/have lived in last summer. Amazing.

On the in-laws' farm (given it's very rural, I was surprised they'd gone past), the dog managed its moment of fine by appearing in three of the shots near the farm.

They seem to have picked some rather odd places to decide to go or not to go, especially round here, where public areas adjoin the army training areas.

They went right to the top of the hill south from Market Lavington (Lavington Hill), where there's nothing at the top but an army vedette, yet in West Lavington (Stibb Hill), they stopped half way up, when there are plenty more houses further up.
