I've been listening to this station for the past two days, mainly Steve Lamacq's show from 4.00pm. It's a refreshing change to Radio 1 and Radio 2. I think the main difference is the music playlist - no top 40 hits or tunes from the 80s, mainly up and coming artists that I've heard so far, but I might hear songs from the BBC's collection from the past 40 years as they tell me if I listen to other shows. When it launched in 2002 many people were annoyed that it wasn't on FM as many people didn't have digital radios, although you could listen to it online and through satellite/DTT.
There is one little thing that annoys me - the station title on digital radio is 'BBC Radio 6Music', yet the station is actually called 'BBC 6 Music'. I know the logo has 'BBC Radio' in it but I thought at least the Beeb themselves would get it right!
BBC 6 Music
These are the same rumours that have been flying round for several months now, and have been mentioned by Broadcast, Guardian et.al before Murdoch's dirty rag got its "exclusive."
