coooeeeee, another question on tellys.

If I was to buy a 32" model, can you tell the difference between 720 and 1080 on a screen that size?

I would say no, unless you're also going to use it as a PC monitor.

I dunno - I can tell when 720 is being upscaled on my 24" monitor, but I suppose I'm thinking more about games where aliasing artefacts get exaggerated/text loses its definition etc.

but then you're only about 2ft from your monitor as opposed to 7-10ft as in my front room.

Found this on the net so I'm not sure how accurate is it.

So in the end, I went for the Samsung LE32B450, not least because Tesco had it for £299

I was particurly pissed off however as I came to this decision at 9pm Friday evening and decided to go in the morning as I couldn't be arsed to get it that night. Naturally they promtly hiked the price back to £349 on Saturday morning. MEGA TSK.

So amazon got my £319 instead.

Other reasons for getting it included not wanting to pay an extra £100 for 1080p when according to that graph it doesn't make a difference on a 32" across a room, and also because I thought I'd save a bit of money towards my eventual LED telly when I buy my house. Yes.

Now, onto the next question, blu-ray: yay or nay?
