Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

I tried to look for the last post by Ginofish, but unfortunately search isn't working - brings up six empty pages, all with an error when I try and search for anything.

Re: The Average Metropol user's phone

Thinking of getting the Motorola Milestone on contract, seeing as it's going cheap because there's a new version out. There's all sorts of nonsense though on whether it supports tethering or not - does anyone know if this is supported on a UK Milestone? I'd be disappointed for it to arrive and not b...

Re: Those motorway LED sign thingys

They've installed some of these things on the dual carriageways near where I live, and for the past few weeks they've just been displaying 'SIGN UNDER TEST', but now they're showing 'NEW SCHOOL YEAR 01 SEP - ALLOW EXTRA JOURNEY TIME' or something to that effect. But hardly anyone uses these roads to...

Re: Location specific Google ads

Re: Partition disaster

I don't have the laptop back until tomorrow evening, so I can't check right now, but from looking at the internet, Sony laptops don't include this. I'd like to avoid this option if I can anyway, I'd like to keep the Sony Recovery Partition just in case. Usually F10 starts the recovery partition but...

Re: Partition disaster

Assuming you've exhausted the partitioning options on the XP disk, does the BIOS contain a low-level format option? Needless to say you will lose all data ever but it might do the trick (if take a very long time). I don't have the laptop back until tomorrow evening, so I can't check right now, but ...

Partition disaster

I was resizing the partition of a friend's laptop, and it ran out of battery mid-way. (I know, stupid me.) I've tried using an XP disc (with the SATA drivers) and it can't see the hard drive or any partitions. Ubuntu throws up a bunch of errors when using the Live CD and when trying to install, and ...
