Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

Now all my cards are on my phone, which I always have with me, I can add offers or vouchers to redeem in the app before I do my shop and they automatically apply at the checkout, or I can use points elsewhere easily (for example Nectar at Caffe Nero by generating a QR code in less than a minute ...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

Oh god can anyone be arsed with all that? Why have all these things become more complicated than ‘have some money off for being loyal’ or ‘here’s some vouchers for being loyal’?

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

I've noticed a few stores have started to get very utilitarian metal displays for produce. On first sight I thought they were left over from the 'misted veg' era but I'm pretty sure they're new.

One of those stores had a self service order terminal for the Pizza Counter, not unlike the ones they ...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

If I’m going somewhere local I’ll nearly always just take my phone. I pay for practically everything on Apple Pay so the wallet is just clutter. In the event a shop had a fault I could always nip home and get my card.

If I’m heading to another town I’d take my wallet though as a just in case ...

They’re keeping hold of the travel stores though.

Let’s hope the ...

I can’t get my head around the need to go to a counter for something that’s available on shelves elsewhere.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Yeah, I had this happen the other day too. It's definitely new and quite a disconcerting feeling. My Sainsbury's also now has a camera that identifies loose produce when you weigh it, so you don't "accidentally" press the wrong button. It's all making supermarket shopping quite a depressing 1984 ...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Could it have picked up a QR code by mistake? I’ve had that a few times now.
