B&Q have acquired five Homebase stores in Altrincham, Basingstoke, Biggleswade, Leamington Spa and Worcester.

Refurbs have been locally the kiss of death for Barclays branches. The two that used to be near to me got refurbs and then put on the closure list. One is now a Screwfix and the other is a dentist.

I can see the London Homebase stores becoming The Range as they only have 5 stores either within the M25 with one just outside it at Lakeside.

Homebase have 13 stores within the M25.

49 stores have gone into administration with Teneo.

The remaining 70 stores along with the Homebase brand have been acquired by CDS Superstores who will convert them into The Range.

It's not clear at the moment which stores are under administration and those which are now under CDS management ...

Barclays in Tottenham Court Road is finally closing on the 10th January 2025.

There's still no confirmed opening date for the reopening of Oxford Circus which is supposed to cover the closure of TCR.

My nearest Sainsbury's supermarket has already had their ATM converted to a NoteMachine one last week.

For the signage, they've used a slightly off Orange compared to the shade used by Sainsbury's Bank with again the font trying to emulate Sainsbury's, but slightly off saying "Free Cash Withdrawls ...

The large Barclays in Tottenham Court Road in Central London has been given a stay of execution for now as the refurbishment of the Oxford Circus branch still hasn't been completed. A sign on the door claims they're staying open until they can find alternative arrangements with LINK to provide ...

The first Wilko in London will be in Uxbridge, opening in their old site at the The Pavilions Shopping Centre on November 22nd.

TGI Fridays has come out of administration, being acquired by Breal Capital and Calveton UK with 51 restaurants saved.

The two local titles here are largely free online.

Southwark News used to be fully paywalled, but has once again become free again, but will charge you 50p to read an online version of the newspaper.

The South London Press is free, but has merged two other London local newspapers the London Weekly ...
