All remaining standalone GAME stores to close. House of Fraser concessions and the website remain open.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Must say I've seen something I've never seen before, until the past few weeks and that's hire trolleys at both Waitrose and Sainsbury's.

They've always done it, but until last year Wanzl branded them the same as the 'normal' ones so it was less obvious which were hired.

How will the implementation of the Bee Network branded rail services work in Manchester? Will they be directly managed by TfGM under a franchise concession or will the existing TOC simply run them with the new branding?

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Croydon's Post Office isn't moving into TGJones after all as redevelopment plans for the shopping centre are happening a lot more sooner than suggested during the proposal.

So it's staying in the original premises for the time being operated by franchisee ZCO Limited who were initially given the ...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Since the local Poundland stores closed, I travelled to another store in South London that is still open and stock levels on the shelves were low or out of stock and not many customers.

It's all reminiscent of Wilko in 2022/23 when they were limping on.

Simply Poundland despite the supposed ...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

I imagine it's going to be a messy affair when the TG Jones closures bite as it'll no doubt impact a number of communities where they operate the only Post Office for miles. I wonder if Post Office might end up propping up part of the operation if the whole thing is sent to the administrators ...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

I had to pop into Sainsbury's to collect a microwave from Argos at 10am on New Year's Day and not surprisingly it was quiet in the supermarket and the Argos concession. In Argos there was only a customer collecting Vax shampoo and me.

Argos itself had opened at 8am on NYD at the same time as ...

Re: The rise of the dodgy shop

One of the reasons why lockers have become popular in recent years. My newsagent has an InPost locker alongside the Tesco Express down the road, plus they're outside so have the convenience factor of being able to collect or drop a parcel after trading hours.

Going back to the "dodgy" shops that ...
