Re: Wave FM becomes Pure Radio

The small scale Dundee FM licence seems to have been a Cinderella station for such a long time. I was surprised that DCT decided to invest in the old Wave 102, but performed better when it was between owners with a jukebox format. Pure Radio appears to be a vanity project based in Glasgow as an outl...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

In the last couple of weeks, the queuing levels at Sainsbury's have either been low or none at all. There's now a poor person who stands outside all day counting customers entering the store, but they're rarely stopping people entering. Stock levels are also fully back to normal. There was still iss...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

I agree that the JL closures seem to be the least worst decision. Regarding Birmingham, my guess is while the footfall was good, they simply weren't spending enough to meet the overheads. The Boots closures also announced today I believe are 48 Boots Opticians stores. They'll probably keep the conce...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

The cafe on Monday had a notice about Covid-19 at the door, with taped off tables and transparent sheeting in the kitchen and serving areas, with a crude square cut-out to give them cash. The barbers this morning, I was met by a receptionist, a first for what was a walk-in barbers wearing a face shi...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

Only one bar took our contact details, aren't they all obliged to take them? It seems to be a mix, depending on the area. From what I was told, some took name and telephone numbers, others took temperature checks, but didn't take contact details and some carried on as normal. I'm going to a cafe to...

According to the BBC News thread, apparently Jane Hill has got a new blouse
It's what you'd expect on celebrity capture websites, not a tv pres site.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

By the way I highly recommend doing the Financial Times' £1 one month online trial for loads of really interesting articles about how retail and hospitality are coping during all this. It's nowhere near as stuffy as I assumed it would be, loads of fascinating tidbits and I'll probably carry on bein...
