Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

It does look dated already. I seem to remember Tesco trying something similar around 10 years ago.

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

It wouldn't be a CiN thread without references to Tumble Tower. It is Tommyrot however.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Sainsbury's didn't sell fireworks this year. They stopped in 2019 as a cost-cutting measure. It was a sensible decision considering that for the majority of the time when they were on sale that a member of staff would be standing there not selling many, except for the day or two before November 5th...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

Worth noting that around 120 Argos standalones that closed in March that stayed closed won't reopen and will count towards their 2024 closure target. As for the counters, I wouldn't be surprised if that space goes to more concessions, such as Sushi Gourmet in my local superstore which replaced the f...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

Sainsbury's are to close 420 standalone Argos stores by 2024, replacing them with 150 Argos concessions inside supermarkets.

Meat, fish and deli counters which have been closed since March will stay closed.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

I've just tried Aldi on Deliveroo and it's a bit of a game changer for me. It's a flat £4.99 delivery fee but Deliveroo Plus actually includes the supermarkets so you could do a weekly shop and not pay more that their £11ish monthly charge. The range is certainly more limited but there's enough the...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

My friend worked for a WHSmith travel shop inside a railway station and he was the only member of staff there in the mornings who'd open up, stock up and go to the store room (which was on a platform), so would lock up for 5-10 mins during quiet periods until other staff including the manager joined...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

Really fascinated by the guy obsessed with doubling down on false equivalence between MSNBC and Fox News, even in unrelated threads. It's my one weakness on TVF I'm afraid, but when you're debating the likes of Cityprick and Mouseboy who aren't known for their diplomatic debating skills, I'll keep ...
