Re: The TSB & Lloyds Bank relaunch news and information board

Every year that goes by I'm surprised by TSB's ability to limp on with such poor systems, crap branches (both in terms of location and quality) and mediocre products. Sabadell clearly have a price in mind for the business but what would a suitor really be paying for at this point? The brand is weak ...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

In VH1 style, the new (old) branding has been replaced by the previous branding for Christmas tho.

Re: Masks

Genius idea there. GPs famously haven't had much on in the last couple of years. Good to give them a bit of admin. I think there could probably be a middle ground between "GP note" and "say you're exempt". An online declaration perhaps. This might actually help those with exempt...

Re: Masks

Masks mandatory again as of tomorrow. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/explainers-52530518 It'll be interesting to see if the stricter rules in England result in stricter compliance in Scotland. Despite the masks remaining mandatory up here the whole time there's been fewer people wearing them. Perhaps i...

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

It looks like most banks now offer contactless on their basic current accounts, but Metro Bank is the only one which doesn't offer Direct Debit alongside contactless. It's a major improvement for the poorest in society who can now access what everyone else has been able to access for the last few y...

Re: Visa (Credit) not everywhere you want to be

Anyone affected could just use a Curve card or buy Amazon gift cards if they for whatever reason want to stick with just their existing Visa.

It's akin to a carriage dispute anyway, it'll likely be resolved within a few months.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

I agree, the collusion would be a significant factor.

Regardless it's hard to come to conclusion phones4u was a viable business given standalone non-network phone shops just aren't a thing 7 years on (other than the 2 dozen or so Fonehouse locations, unless there's another chain?).

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

even if it's longer contracts with the networks then that doesn't seem to make any difference either as EE have breached their contract by pulling out of Phones 4U a year early Not true. EE informed phones4u that they would not be renewing their contract - they didn't renege on the existing one. Vo...

Re: Energy bills: How spanked will YOU get?

Richard Herring will be gutted. He'd push their free recommendation credit on his podcast all the time netting him £50 of credit each time someone signed up (I think I did this through him). I went on a date with someone who worked at Bulb HQ and said that Richard had about £30k in account credit. ...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

So just the 5 apps for me to keep swiping between to maximise my consumer discounts while wandering around Sainsbury's: Smart Shop, Nectar, Green Jinn, Shopmium and Checkout Smart. Oh, and Sainsbury's have recently announced they're scrapping the Nectar Double Up event which usually takes place in ...
