Re: XP to Vista then back again

(It's a Packard-Bell, bought in late 2005).
And there's your problem!
I did indeed avoid any P-B make when I was scurrying about looking for a new PC at Christmas. They seem to have a bad reputation. However, post-cannibalisation of the other CPUs the only thing saying "Packard-Bell" will be the ...

Re: Laminated Signs

There's one in the college toilets, which reads (exactly):

"THESE TOILETS ARE BEING MONITORED PLEASE DO NO VANDALISE OR NOBODY WILL BE ABLE TO USE THEM. Thanks, Anthea".

The check-ups are becoming highly irritating, but its quite funny when a feeble cleaner knocks on the door and sqeuaks "hello ...

Re: Winter colds

My cold seems to be much better now, but it was in no way helped by last week's encounter!!
I'm just waiting for the next one to come around.

Speaking of which, has anyone seen that horrible print advert from the NHS saying "The flu is not just a cold"... and its got some big spikey ickey thing ...

Re: Old Software

I've got the last Macromedia Studio, I don't see the point in upgrading any further at the extorcionate prices Adobe *spit spit* charge, plus I don't believe much has changed between FW8 and FW9. I've had mine over a year now so I couldn't tell you if they still do the trial download for Fireworks 8 ...

Re: Windows Live - Spring cleaning

Even though none of my contact lists have reached their limits, I use multiple accounts using a polygamy patch (so that I can stick annoying people on one, friends on another blah blah...)

Re: Linux

I've been using the Open Circulation Edition of Xandros 4 and its quite good, and would be fairly simple for someone migrating from Windows to Xandros.

Off Linux for a moment - - I've been trying to get ReactOS (WINE) to run on VMware Player using the Easy VMX Creator, but when the setup goes to ...
