Saw that same article on Hull Live. I bet it's on all of Reach's Live websites.

I’ve seen a few stories lately along the lines of “Tesco makes major announcement that will affect every store in the UK”. The story then tends to be several paragraphs of the history of Tesco, before what is almost a footnote to tell you that frozen peas are moving to next to frozen chips or something.

Big fan of the current trend for click bait articles, which is basically reporting on what people are commenting on Home Bargains / B&M Instagram posts. “Home Bargains shoppers are going crazy for the new amazing ‘must have’ chocolate they ‘need’” etc.
They seem to be getting paid for it too.

“Met Office issues snow warning for Northern Britain”
Everyone clicks on it and then realises that it doesn’t mean there is going to be 5 feet of snow in the area, it means there is a yellow warning for light snow in Inverness, 100s of miles away from the newspaper’s coverage area.

My local paper seem to have become slowcoaches. If this (a couple arrested during a police raid for drug possession and money laundering) happened on 3 Feb, why was it only reported on 8 Feb? When stuff like this happens, you'd expect it to be reported the next day at the latest. News is called News because it's supposed to be new... not several days old.

Also, the current top headline on the Hull Daily Mail website relates to an incident in North Yorkshire. HDM's catchment area is EAST Yorkshire - this article shouldn't be there at all!

To be fair that's probably the result of the police press officers delaying releasing things:

Dated 8th Feb, despite the policing activity taking place on the 3rd Feb, Assuming they were RUI within the 24 hour PACE clock I wonder what the delay was in releasing it...
