So, Kent's youth police and crime commissioner has been thrown into the limelight due to her twitter past.
Although incredibly stupid and naive, I can't help but feel sorry for the way she is being portrayed in the Daily Mail (quelle surprise!)
It feels a little like muck raking - are people not allowed to change their views or reform? I suppose the bigger question it has highlighted is was there really a need to create such a role and was it fair to expect a 17 year old to take this much flack?

Yeah, this seems a bit harsh. Apparently these tweets are a few *years* old. I shudder to think about the sort of crap I was probably writing at that age.

It amazes me the daily mail are getting their knickers in a knot over this, I thought they hated "pikeys" and "faggots" anyway?

The point I'm more interested in in all this is, if the Police Commissioner woman really wants a £60,000 salary, rather than £75,000 one, why the hell didn't she hand the odd £15,000 to the Chief Constable to employ somebody to actually fight crime?

Makes you pine for the simpler times when kids just nicked things from shops!

I agree with Nick. Her salary is 85% of a new PC on the current salary! We could do with a few more...
She's resigned now anyway...

I missed this story when it first started last week. Was it just me who saw her on TV and thought she was Adele?

Adele with no stylist.
Her resignation piece was well composed. And the I saw her gabble through it.
Terrible.
