Name the connector!

So in my efforts to cheaply make my car better I've found that my head unit supports an audio input (normally a hands free kit) but I'm going to make my own connector for use with iPhone/TomTom setup.
However I'd like to do it as neatly as possible and I'd prefer to make a cable that fits what the head unit has and thus won't fall out or short on anything.
It's the white 8 pin connector in the middle, I'm after the female connection for it, or a name or something. Maplin and CPC catalogue searches haven't been to helpful.
Any of you clever lot got any ideas?

Do you know the pitch / pin spacing?

It looks like a proprietary connector by the car manufacturer, a shorter version of the Ford Audio cable in fact.

No, I've seen those style of connectors on various things, from feedback suppressors to PC periphials. But there's so many of that style (it looks a bit like a smaller version of the 4 pin connectors used for analogue CD audio in a PC), that actually finding the exact match is difficult. It also looks similar to some of the higher density Molex connectors.
Knowing the pin spacings means you can find a matable connector, even if it doesn't have the same locking mechanism. I've found a few potential matches on Farnell, but nothing conclusive.

What make/model is the head unit?
Can you get a cheap device that's intended to go in there from ebay and then adapt it?

It appears to fit a PC internal audio cd header... Does a 8 pin one of these exist?

Now, do we think that comes with pins, I can see its a crimp connector, but what's the bet the pins are separate...
