USB Flash drive - My capture card

Evening everyone,
Basically, I've been exploiting the ability of my new television which enables it to record DTT programmes to a USB Flash drive. This works well, as they play in VLC, and if they're content related for my presentation site, I can use VLC's capture feature to do that. However, I have one question, which may relate to my television, but may not.
A video from Sky News will not play on my PC, instead I get a black screen, with the clip lasting a second, even if it was recording for two minutes. Now, this doesn't happen if I record any of the BBC Channels, ITV, Channel Four, FIVE, etcetera, or even Channel One. Any ideas of why Sky News' recordings don't play/appear?
