saw her on question time last night. i'm not ken clarke's biggest fan by any means, but i think he had it on the money when he accused her of "synthetic indignation" over one particular issue.

her entire persona came across as false and over dramatic with lots of pointless arm waving.

apparently she used to be on gmtv (i've watched about zero minutes of gmtv in the last 5 years so i haven't heard of her before).

how the fook did she become an mp?

In 2009 and 2010, De Piero acted as a guest presenter on the Five magazine show Live from Studio Five, in the absence of presenters Kate Walsh and Melinda Messenger.

She has a pretty safe labour seat too (although she didn't win it by much)

ah, i see - so as caroline flint puts it... "window dressing". she doesn't seem to be a lady of any substance.

still i'm bloody annoyed both my fingers are stuck together with egg white.

Don't like the sound of this story.

Makes me think our next MP could be Alex Shovell.

Ashfield, my girlfriend's home-constituency. Geoff Hoon's old seat.

Something like a 20% swing to the Lib Dems last May (though I expect it'll go right back the other way next time, regardless of her performance).

ah so, the midlands have got their very own sarah palin it seems.

it scares the hell out of me that we might one day have these 1 dimensional drones parachuted into safe seats taking national security or other major policy decisions.

she should be on bid tv where she belongs quite frankly.

Urgh, she's just awful. Obviously her majestic delivery of "people are hurting" didn't quite win over the crowd the first time, thus definitely meriting a repeat. Bleh.

I noticed that her accent wandered around quite a bit on QT, presumably trying to bridge the gap between "credible southern" for the MPs and "generic northern" for the audience.

Well I'm saddled with Jason McCartney, formerly of Calendar. Not aware of him actually having done anything of substance in his six months in office so far.

Wirral West has Esther McVey as their MP; whose career highlight so far has been hosting a Channel 5 afternoon chat show, 5's Company.
