Just what the hell is it with the major supermarkets in this country?
I like to entertain myself by consuming large quantities of grapes.
But all of Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons - otherwise respectable supermarkets - sell disgusting sorry grapes that are small, watery and bitter.
The white grapes are always too bitter to enjoy and the red and black ones are always too lacking in any kind of substance, and also these supermarkets always have grapes with some kind of fine dusting of grot on them. They're not any cheaper, either.
Consistent sources of nice grapes include Waitrose, Marks & Spencer and, surprisingly, Asda. There, the grapes are always sweet and large.
Just why can the supermarkets I visit most not cough up proper quality grapes?
The grapes of wrath
Tesco grapes here in Ireland are €2.79 (which are quite nice)
Across the road is aldi where the same thing is €0.89c
