Can you get this to work if you don't have a dish, just Ethernet connected? I was contemplating the potential use of such a box...

You will need to have it connected to a dish as the interface is launched via the red button MHEG layer.

Have you considered a PS3?
Even if you're not into games its still a cracking blu-ray player, media server and has an optimized version of iplayer.
