In-car iPod systems

I'm looking for one of these for my brother for Christmas. I came across an FM transmitter before, but the quality was a bit crap. I've been looking around at a lot of gadgets, some using an audio jack, cassette, or most popularly, the FM transmitter. Already, they are all pissing me off with awkward set-ups and believably bad reviews.
My brother's car is a Xsara Picasso, and the position of the cigarette lighter will not comfortably hold a dock for an iPod transmitter. Could anybody recommend one suitable enough for under £40? Many thanks
