Metropol

I'm working on a film project which sees split screen some into use. It's an interior shot and I'm using lights as opposed to daylight to ensure the lighting remains the same. I'm putting the footage into Adobe Premiere Elements and I keep finding that the lighting changes on one side, giving away a clear line between the two clips. Is there any program that allows an option to soften two clips together so they blend in? Many thanks

i think the big boy version of adobe premier can do it (i don't have it installed on the pc i'm using right now), but you can download a fully functional 30 demo to render the scene if you like.

Thanks for the advice. I'm having to covert my original clip, however, because Premiere Pro won't read MPEG files. Is there a reason why it won't read them and yet Premiere Elements will?

EDIT: Just tried the split again with a linear transition effect or something, and it works perfectly. Thank you very much, Dr Lobster!

As a side issue, editing in MPG is really unsatisfactory, as its not a frame accurate editing codec, and Premiere will have to render out the timeline, which slows down the process.

If they are reasonably small clips, consider converting the MPGs to an AVI format.
