Pension policies.

I froze a pension about 15 years ago. Several moves later and a rummage through the filing boxes upstairs, i seem to have lost all the paperwork. Do any of you know the best and cheapest way to trace it? The company has changed names several times since i took it out.
Also, is it still likely to be valid if i do manage to trace it?

If you can recall the name of the company its with, I could trace it for you with your basic details, such as address and NI number. I'd need an authority mandate to do it, so would need to send you the appropriate paperwork.
Do you recall if you left the pension officially paid-up - as in, you agreed to stop making contributions to it?
EDIT: Oh yes, I see you said you froze it.
If you'd like me to assist, don't hesitate to ask. Fully regulated by the FSA, incidentally - your private affairs wouldn't become the talking point of Metropol

I have some money sitting dormant in a WHSmith staff pension account. What should I do with it?
oh for simpler days when it was just "look at James Martin, wibble" on here
