Name this Wireless Microphone

This is weird one but as a young child growing up in the 1990's I had a bit of an obsession with microphones. I used to see the above microphone (being used merely as a prop) on lots of shows such as OB's on Big Breakfast and Channel 4 Racing to name just a couple, it was either in black or silver. I've been trying to find out the make and model. Sennheiser don't seem to claim responsibly for it looking at their history.

So any ideas.

EDIT: I think I last saw it used on Midlands Today a year or so ago.

I think its an old AKG C series condenser mic.

Can't see it on the website. I'll ask someone.

it's an old Micron stick mic, popular in the 1990's and hired out by Bettersound.
They had two at The Big Breakfast house - one of which was covered in gold foil for Wonga - and another out on the OB.

the sound was particularly awful in the reception area, wasn't it.

on a similar note, does anybody remember those large silver lapel microphones used in the late 1980s and early 1990s? who made those?

Oh I wanted one of those. Plus I also wanted to stick a hollow silver tube on the end and make it like Terry Wogan's stick mic from Blankety Blank.

Don't know what brand they were, but they were all pretty chunky back then. Sony, maybe.

I've got a Sennheiser MKE 2-ew Gold, which shows you how they've shrunk. As a matter of scale I should say the wire protruding isn't very thick at all - far thinner than the close-up makes it appear.

I think you're thinking of the Sony ECM-55.. which sounded nice but was quite big.
The MKE and DPA range are great, but very prone to failure just through handling.
