What are you doing for the bells?

According to BBC Scotland's website, "all eyes will be on the castle at the stroke of midnight"
So where will you be when the fireworks launch?
I've got a couple of party invites, a pal to see and a hankering to go to a fun gay pub, but as yet I'm undecided.

My housemates were trying to drag me to the Street Party, but it's the kind of thing that after witnessing once, I really....really....don't need to do that again. Ever. I'm one of those dreary buggers who ramble on about the whole New Year thing being a bit arbitrary, so if I'm lucky I'll be asleep with my Po hot water bottle by 11. BECAUSE I'M AWESOME.

I always do this: I wound up at small-town home, in a situation where it's actually less miserable to stay in than it is to go out. I shall be staying in and watching the neckless Jools and his prerecorded fake-e-nanny.
One of these years I'll organise something AMAZING.

I have a few mates who queued for HOURS yesterday in the freezing cold to collect the street party tickets they bought in advance. I don't fancy the street party, although the music lineup is probably ok. Its too cold and packed to be enjoyable.
Shame you're not in the city though. Could have said hello.
I hate the English programming. It shouldn't be a "Hootenanny", its "hogmanay" for god's sake.

I blame Holland - the country and the man.

Holland (the place) is blameless. I was born in Oostvoorne you know.

So, how many other people here can say they were born in a place spelt with four Os?

And "Ooooh, Manchester" doesn't count.

I'll be in the usual place tonight. Welcoming in the New Year with Nick Knowles. Er, great.
(I always offer to work New Year's Eve because I hate it. It depresses me.)
