How to watch virgin TV channels?

I just moved to a property that does not have a outdoor TV antena. But I found a virgin media phone socket and small TV box on the wall.

Can some one tell me whether or not it is possible to watch virgin's free channels, if I buy a second hand virgin digital box? I do not want to sign up to virgin's phoneline because I already hae a BT line and I am contracted to it.

Thanks in advance.

That'd be classed as an unauthorised appliance connected to the cable network so would be a no-no. If it's been out of use for a while there's also a chance it wouldn't be connected inside the cabinet on the street anyway.

Hi Sput, Thanks for replying. I guess I will contact virgin for the initial set up etc.

I wouldn't expect to get it for free though without cancelling your contract with BT as they do require a phoneline for their basic pack, might want to try Freesat or Freeview.

They might have offers without phonelines if you enquire or delve into their website far enough

You could just get a Virgin phone line as well as you BT line - they are totally different circuits into your house, so you can have both. Might be worth doing if it's cheaper to get a TV package with a phone line than it would be to not

Freeview might be tricky if there's no outdoor TV aerial,

They do not. Also, freeview is now worth a shot with a decent indoor aeriola.

especially if you currently don't have broadband as I presume if you're in said contract with BT you wouldn't be able to take advantage of an LLU adsl supplier.

It provides a mandatory phone service for £11 a month.

Careful! They might take that as a direct debit authorisation!

Too late. I've just referred him through my account so I get midget porno channels free for a month.

Did you opt for the mongolian or the brazilian flavour? There's a whole lot of difference!
