Basically it's not much of a surprise as they Network together and both have had the same logos for about a year now, so it was more of a matter of when than if. Shame to see Century go, it's a very well established brand in the North West. Just Guardian streamlining their brands more, so it's basically down to Smooth, Real and Rock Radio(s)

Yes a shame to see Century go - another brand lost - but Real is such a strong brand and has by far been one of the major success stories of radio in the last 10 years.

Not really worthy of its own thread, but I saw yesterday Edinburgh's Talk 107 is to close.
Just as well I didn't take that job in their marketing department!

I'm assuming by "promo stings", it literally IS just the name changing, with the jingles remaining intact. I hope so, cos I love those jingles.

Because although you don't like him, others do?

And sure enough, Real has new, crappier jingles, although they are reminiscient of their first package from the early days...
At risk of being Tumble-tower-esque, instead of Real-Rad-i-o it's now Re-al Ra-a-di-o.
