Well they needed updating, I was just thinking that both the news and travel jingles needed updating - after all they were 13 years old. The news jingle doesn't sound much different - feel a bit more punchy but a shame they've not gone a bit more radical. Mind you, Radio 2 doesn't really update it's news jingle very often. How long had they had the news jingle before the "different every time" rebrand?

Travel. Not sure. Sounds more 1997 than the one it replaced - but it's certainly got a bit more texture and brings it more in to line with the station sound.

Does anyone have a copy of the 1980s-era BBC Radio 2 sung PAMS-esque namechecks? The one I'm after in particular is Michael Parkinson's.

Hehe! Planning on a bit of editing? Take it you've already got Jimmy Young!

If I've got it it'll be on ancient reel-to-reel. I'll have a check through when I have a few minutes spare.

Doesn't look as if I have got a Parky, I'm afraid.

Nearest I've got is 'Michael Aspel makes your morning, Michael Aspel makes your day' from the early Blue Mink package for Capital Radio.

Trouble is, that isn't going to edit into Jimmy Young in any shape or form!
