http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7736405.stm)
it's available as a torrent - you can download it from
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4517770 ... t_Nov_2008

I had a look at it earlier. There aren't all that many from Northern Ireland on it, just one from where I live who lives in a very nice part of town.
As was pointed out in another place, it will let the members of that party know what it feels like to be an oppressed minority.

There are 5 people from round here, but none that I know. There is however a chap with whom I have performed in Gilbert and Sullivan operas with on the list. Which is ironic. If you've seen the Mikado.

Can I just suggest that it might be a good idea if people don't post details of names which are on that list, or details which make identifying individuals possible?

The list has gone. I should have copy pasted it! Did anyone copy-paste it?

As marksi suggested it's advisable not to post names / identifiable information about those on the list. I rather suspect the lawyers are going to be looking out for the list (partial or full) reappearing on other websites.

Because of the potential legal difficulties in this scenario, I would prefer you not to post names or any other identifiable information on Metropol.
I will make edits to the posts which precede this message which contain this type of information.
That said, discussions on the existence of such a list, and your opinions on the wider matter are welcomed.

Yes.
There, that must be suitably vague.
I might be agreeing with Gavin, or I might be answering an earlier question, or possibly, both.

I don't like it when this happens. They might be abhorrent in their opinions but they still have a right to privacy. As far as I'm aware they don't have lists of gay people and where they live (right?) in order to harass them so by publishing this list it's really not a moral victory.
Having said that, going by the fact commentson the Daily Mail about this story have person name, opinion and location, I think that list has been rendered redundant!
