Metropol

I've got a Panasonic HDC-SD5 camcorder and it has a very shit substitute to night vision/infrared capture - high contrast and shutter speed, which makes everything "brighter" and produces a very slow frame rate, not to mention you can't turn it on/off during recording, which overall, is bloody annoying. Is there such a thing, like an attachment or something, that acts as an external night capture peripheral?
