And it's nothing to do with whether we want to hear your voice! I think it genuinely helps to hear someone's voice to be able to hear them post, so to speak. Either that or it completely destroys your perceptions of someone

i also don't have adblock plus. my anti-virus thing blocks a small number of banners but mainly those scantily clad women ones rather than the great majority of google ads, it works much nicer than adblock's more vicous approach that I find quite annoying and rude.

Having said that, it also has an annoying habit of blocking anything called "banner" so I had to alter its settings to stop it from making large gaps on bbc.co.uk where site logos should be. tsk.

I have a different reason for not using Adblocking software which is that I find many such programs damage the page scripting leading to page errors. Generally I don't like the idea of a program tampering with the HTML of a web page.

Strange, I've never had any of those issues you all mention. I did used to whitelist sites I like but never bothered on my current laptop. I'll add Metro and TVF to it now.

I don't use adblock plus, but my HOSTS file is massive. I dread to think how slow my internet connection would be otherwise.
