I'm sorry but it looks shit. I've seen a dozen trailers and each looks guff.

Is it just me or is Jack Black an over-rated tosser?

Having seen it already recently (and no, not by arr means) I think it's really good but my opinion on things rarely meet up with many others so take from that what you will.

Jack Black is a bit marmite for a lot of people, very few I know who stand on a middle ground with him and the persona he's built up. I feel he's a somewhat competent actor and a rather decent singer though.

The main problem with Jack Black is that he isn't picky enough about which scripts he takes on. Having said that, I actually quite enjoyed Be Kind Rewind. Definitely want to see Kung Fu Panda, but as a general rule if there's a Pixar movie coming out at the same time, then it's bound to be better than a Dreamworks CGI.

I love CGI movies. One of my favourite films is Monsters Inc. Brilliantly conceived, good story and laugh out loud moments. I just see nothing remotely amusing in the trails for Kung Fu Panda - even the ones that feature "gags".

I think its just a vehicle for Black, and not a very good one.

I'm in the minority, clearly, but I'm comfortable with that.

Had's off to the animators, but apart from the CGI, it really does look like an utter pile of wank.

I shan't be going to watch it, not even on Orange Wednesday.

Yes, Monsters Inc. is a wonderful film, and just goes to show how brilliant Pixar are in their field. Nearly all of their movies have been genius, whether they explore toys, bugs, monsters, fish or superheroes. The only let-down appears to be Cars. I haven't seen it, but I suppose the imagination wears a bit thin. Every child did tend to wonder if their toys came to life or what bugs and fish thought, what the life of a superhero was like, and if there were really monsters in their closet. I don't suppose they would think about what a car thinks, if it could.

Dreamworks have really only had two decent CGI films, which were Shrek and Shrek 2. Shrek the Third was just dire - even Eric Idle and John Cleese couldn't save it. So they've resorted to animated animals providing juvenile laughs in Over the Hedge, Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda. For me, the novelty has definitely worn off. As for Jack Black, as a person I think he seems pretty great, full of enthusiasm and a fairly decent actor, although maybe having a little too much energy for certain things. I'm a sucker for romantic comedies, so I watched The Holiday with a housemate. Him opposite Kate Winslet (and Jude Law with Cameron Diaz) was, of course, undeniably cheesy, but all four are just too likeable for me to turn the DVD player off.

Having said all that, I've read rumours that he is a bit arrogant and grouchy in interviews, so I've no clue.

I thought Over The Hedge was fantastic, personally. Not *too* childish - I'm not ashamed to say I own it on DVD.

Make sure you all check out Wall-E this weekend - what I've seen already is *very* good, and it's getting some great reviews.

I don't think any Disney/Pixar film has ever lived up to the sheer genius that is Toy Story. The story was great, the characters were spot on and a person of any age could enjoy it. The follow up was one of the few films that was equally as good as the original. I'm just hoping they don't spoil it with TS3.

That's not to say their other films are bad. Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc were just fantastic.

WALL-E is nothing more than 21st century Al-Gore-esque global warming guilt-trip propaganda with a rip-off central hero with silly name.

Bold assessment, one that's been made several times over and will never start to be actually worth anything but still very bold and I like that.

But people still go "O Yea!" to this little nugget of nothing and make out as if it's just a big 'ol plagiarism trip.
