Are you a Freaky Eater?

I tend to go through periods of eating the same things again and again. Lately I've been indulging in chicken and avocado delivered in various formats (toasted wrap, or in a salad).

Prior to that I was eating turkey with peppers in the same way, and before that I was eating brocolli with everything, and there was a courgette phase too.

I'm not concerned that I get stuck eating a narrow menu of food as I know my habits change regularly enough - and I'm fairly content that my faddy phases contain quite healthy foods. I never buy a ready meal. Everything is prepared from fresh.

But if Harry Hill were to ask, I would haver to admit I'm a bit of a Freaky Eater.

Is anyone else?

I like my homemade pies. Very nice, had a steak and kidney pie last night.

Although, I can't seem to stop eating chippy chippy chip chips!

I'm the same actually. I go through phases of eating loads of one particular type of thing. Boiled eggs, egg fried rice & cheese on toast are some recent examples, often several times a night.

I've always been a bit of a freaky eater, as a child there is a story my m always tells of how she'd left 1lb of butter by the fire to soften up for baking, only to come in half an hour later to find I'd eaten half of it. I also have a slight weirdness of eating lemons, whole, skin and all.

I eat cereal without milk and never at breakfast time. However I do this with the sanction of Sainsbury's who say on the side of all their packets that their cereals my be "enjoyed as a delicious snack at any time of the day".

You don't eat Kellogg's branded cereal?

You've taken "freaky" to a whole new level.

Its not just their cornflakes, its all their cereals. I buy the mini variety packs. And i love the special K cereal bars.

I'm not a freaky eater but i do at times get a craving for certain foods. Usually fish and shellfish. I will rustle up nothing but various fish dishes for a week or so. Shame really as 'im indoors hates fish. That'll teach him for digging holes in the butter.

I had a brief obsession with having quiche for breakfast..in the end though the effort of making pastry became too much to keep on going, that and I suddenly went off it.

I've just been to Scotmid and bought more avocados and a pack of flamegrilled chicken pieces.

I'm soooo predictable.

'Cados and chicky chick!

Enjoy your meal my friend.

I might just have to toodle off to get some plaice or chicken breast to serve on a bed of spinach and feta cheese served with saute potatoes and petit pois. You have whetted my appetite starting this thread.

Fascinating fact: All the supermarket cereals are made by the same company, Cereal Partners. This is with the exception of Waitrose who seem to make their own cereal judging by their all bran.

Fascinating fact 2: Tesco 'value' tuna has exactly the same *secretproductID* codes on the top as premium tuna.

Cereal Partners are a joint venture between Nestlé and General Mills. So all the own branded cereals are really Nestlé. I think the whole own brand stuff is interesting as most people are label snobs.

You can beat good old Yellow Pak
