...is actually Ozone that can form because a hot wire throws off electrons. Who knew?

No, thats not true, A romanian band cant be formed by wire. No I was joking, I believe it is. My granddad is an electrician, I'll email him.

It's a major plot development in the original Peter Cushing Dr Who & The Daleks movie.
DOCTOR WHO: Whenever they (Daleks) move, there is a familiar odour.
BARBARA: Yes I've noticed that, I was trying to remember where...
IAN: The fairground...you get the same smell off the dodgem cars.
SUSAN: It's ozone...caused by electric sparks.
DOCTOR: Electrical power - not electricity like we know it, but some sort of static electricity. Those armour suits they wear are actually machines driven by power they pick up from the floor.
