Just a very quick question before i commit anything to stone, we've been using the phpBB3 style "member info on the right" layout for the last few months. Do people prefer this or would the membership prefer to go back to the old style of user on left?

Personally I've got quite used to this being on the right and I quite like it, but I'm interested in what everyone else thinks.

oh and I want REASONS, not just votes.

I prefer it on the right, as when reading content your eye go from left-to-right (generally speaking) and having the info panel on the left can be a bit disruptive to the flow. Though having it on the left is still fairly common of other board software.

I prefer the left. Seeing the name of the poster before reading the text dictates how I interpret the prose, and my eyes don't instinctively go to the right of the page first.

TBH, I don't give a carrot either way as I'm used to both - but I voted right as there's no problem with how it is now.

I've only just realised now you mention it that it had changed from left to right.
I'm indifferent. Not gonna vote as the Either/or option isn't available on the poll.

Hmm, the poster's name is right at the top of any post anyway and I know what people look like so keep it on the right. Can't see the purpose for it going back to the left and could easily lead to a obit thread and questions about black tie wearing if it did.

I don't mind either way. I ignore some posts based on their username rather than whether they have an avatar or where they are from. I haven't voted.

It might be nice if avatars were compulsory though
