Repairing Corrupt PSDs

Can anybody recommend a freeware bit of software to repair broken PSD files? I've tried a few, but they're either not working, or shareware so won't do it properly until I splash out.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I'm not created from banknotes, and don't have £75 to hand.

Not even heat-laminated ones? :P

Incredibly no.

Anybody else able to help?

Tell you what you can do, you can either upload the PSD via your hosting service of choice or give us details on if it had layers and how big it is (both in bytes and HxW).

Or, try this out. I'm saying shit all about what it can and can't do, no corrupt PSDs to try it out on here.

Thanks Nini, even if you can't help, I'm grateful. Now don't laugh at what you see, anyone who has a look. It's work in progress.

I actually think it's beyond repair though. I stupidly deleted it from my USB stick, forgetting I had no back up. Stupidly, being on the stick, it was not recycled.

Yeah, unlikely as the majority of it is blanked (read: corrupt) but I know the layer names and reckon you were working on something sounding very similar to the upcoming Metropol design.

Well, I did suggest it earlier in the new look thread, so purely for fun, I decided to have a crack at it myself.

If anybody's contemplating committing suicide because they cannot see it, you could perhaps PM me as I have a JPG saved which you could have a giggle at.

Unless your TADA.psd file is some multi-layered vector image which took hours and hours to produce, my only suggestion is to open Photoshop and start again.

If the file was so important, you should have made a back-up of it straight after saving the original! ;)

I know, I know I should have. I'm pretty annoyed with myself TBH.

I will start again. Maybe it will be better. Who knows.
