I have noticed that my bread of choice - Warburten's White Medium - has risen from £1 to £1.19 suddenly.

This angers me. Has any one else had yeast-related problems?

Oh that stuff is rank. I've been through all the noname bread and it's cack.

I find the price of Warburtons' Toastie bread quite outrageous. Less so, however, than the fact that the loaf has an odd number of slices, thus rendering its ultimate toastie topless and unfulfilling.

I haven't tried it, but the Asda stuff sounds crap going on the price.

This is a timely thread.

Until some monies clear in my account I have the princely sum of £4.72 in my bank. I'm going to do what I hate seeing others do - pay for a couple of quids worth of food with a card.

I have a kilo of various pasta in the cupboard, butter and oil.

What do you advise me to buy for dinner?

I seem to recall that the slices were actually smaller than with good bread. You can't fault Warburton's for a generous slice size. I'm considering buying a bigger toaster to accommodate those lusciously long sheets of joy.

I was thinking about making my own pesto without the pine-nuts which give me guts like Gallipoli.

Its probably cheaper to buy some ready made and suffer it.

I'm currently using Kingsmill "Love to Toast", which helpfully informs me it was formally known as Toastie.

This annoys me however as its slices will not fit in my toaster unless I either squash them in sideways or cut off to the top and bottom crusts.
