I keep getting text messages on my phone from 69001 saying:
"Thanks for downloading. go to
http://gsm.vc/m1111111111111111*.wml with your handset."
Anyone know what this is? I get it once every week or so.
*Those 'random' numbers are actually a series of specific numbers but I worry they might identify me.

Do you receive it in a particular area? I've had similar messages when walking down certain streets, or when drinking in particular pubs.

You think it could be bluetooth spamming? I've heard this is some new kind of thing where they hope people will follow a link or phone a number, resulting in dirty profits for nefarious types.

I have to admit to rather childishly standing in the corner of one of the clubs I go in with my mate.....doing a bluetooth search, and then guessing the resultant phone nicknames against people on the dancefloor...
I know....it's childish. But we never sent any spam messages, Well I didn't. He probably did (slapper)

It's very wise to do this for the purposes of security and safety management.

I thought it was something you got if you used the wrong toothpaste.
I feel next month's Comment coming on.

i don't think you've quite understood the point of cruising. not that i'm an expert on the subject, nor am i a londoner - but apparently people put sx in their bluetooth name or something like that.
