I came across this website last night, and upon futher reading into the subject I found out that it has sparked a fair bit of controversy in the media.

People for the site praise it for being a way of teachers finding out their flaws and maybe posting rebuttals, a way of helping parents decide which school they want their children to go to, and for pupils to voice their opinions.

People against the site say it is just a method of bullying and for pupils to say things they wouldn't get away with, and that the site just makes money out of its advertisments.

I don't really care much for it, but was wondering what you guys all think of it.

I know of one Maths teacher who used to bribe pupils to put up good ratings for him. He let them play Countdown the next lesson if he got enough good ratings. Shame he left really.

Teachers really should do a lesson in the basics of current libel laws at the start of each term, along with a reminder of the penalties in place for those who break them.

I wish the web had been around when I was at school. I'd have loved that kind of thing. I actually looked to see whether any of my old teachers were still at the same schools, in the hope of reviewing them retrospectively, but they've all moved on on, or retired, or are DEAD and serves them right.
