I rather like it. The old one looked like it was designed by Tracey in HR on her lunch break. The new one looks like Tracey has been sent on a half day Introduction to Design course.

I'm pretty sure it has been called The Card Factory at some point? There's certainly a lot of directories online that list it as The Card Factory.

Speaking of "the" - whats the deal with Carphone Warehouse?

Just taking these 2 branches in Leeds city centre you have Carphone Warehouse and The Carphone Warehouse less than one mile apart on the same road.

Any ideas?

'Carphone Warehouse' is such a misleading name. Contrary to popular belief it isn't a B&Q sized shop with aisles of obsolete '80s technology, as I found out to my dismay. In Europe it's called 'Phone House' which is a much more accurate name, both in describing what they sell and the size of the shop itself.

It's called Elgiganten Phone House now, which is a bit of a mouthful.

I was sure Currys/PC World/Carphone were heading for a rebrand as Knowhow a few years back. The branding was so heavy in Currys PC World stores in particular, and quite a strong brand too.

I recall saying at the time it was never going to happen - the name didn't fit, and it was clearly there to replace the tarnished name of The Tech Guys (and modernise that brand at the same time).

They'd only just done a glut of rebranding and refurbs at that point too, it would have been nuts.
