Welcome one and all to the new look Metropol that looks very nearly the same as it did before. Below there be some important info for you

PROFILE - the profile pages are now much fabber and work much better than ever before. (as in - they actually work). Please update your profile so it is all nice. There is now a space for you to directly enter your nectar points. If anyone has any more suggestions for custom fields. Please PM me and I'll see what I can do.

AVATARS - The board does not appear to like off site avatars. It had trouble accepting new ones, and Shatliffed all the exiting ones.
Updates to your avatars therefore need to be uploaded to the forum using the lovely simple form in Profile, Edit Avatar.

HTML - is not available on here, at all. Therefore old posts where people (mainly me) have used <a> instead of the BB code will show up as such. It is possible to create our own BBcode however. Woo.

The HOMEPAGE - is gone. It didn't serve any real purpose now the PM notification is fixed. Aside from that I cannot be bothered to find out howit is currently not possible to get the latest topic titles to work in a nice manner so it just looked an ugly, pointless, nasty mess. And we already have one Kempy on here.

Forum headers lack background
Help and contact us pages not there.
Search page is a mess

Minor Bugs
Several smilies are still blue instead of yellow
Font colours on info pages
Submit buttons not consistant
800 x 600 rendering problems. Easy enough to fix
Footer alignment issues
Random <HR> on post new topic



Any other problems you spy, please post here so I can keep track of everything. Comments good and bad welcome - expect replies worthy of Mock Designs for criticism.

Nice recreation, good job.

However, I think that having a hompeage was good, so if you can fix it, that would be good.

Also, a new look competition would be good, as I am going off this current one.

I have to say the new look really doesn't work as well on this ver of phpbb. Not keen on the big blobs of blue and pink on posting boxes. But yay, phpbb3. Well done Hyma.

Edit: Also on Firefox pages often fail to load fully, cutting off half a thread/page?

I know what you mean. It's quite a different beast than the old one and trying to keep the *shape* of the forum the same was the main aim. Now that I've fathomed out how the majority of the code works it'll be much easier to sort out a new look. I saw no point in starting any sort of revamp contest until the thing was upgraded - they're just too different.

thing that's being used as the 'reply to thread' button isn't very good. And ever since the Metro 2012 (innit) look was introduced I haven't been able to see the links on the global settings page and the FAQ page (white on white).

And I see no Nectar Points field.

White on white links will be dealt with. I know where they are and I did mention them above.

I have a strange feeling that the Harvey locomotive, as originally stolen from Fusionlad and mirror-imaged to avoid copyright problems, might be appearing on a forum near you soon, but I'm sworn to secrecy on anything further, so don't ask.

While I'm here, I've been doing a little tinkering myself in the last day or two and have decided that Metropol is now fab enough to have its own link.
