British Summer Time

In a few hours time we will be given the pleasure of an additional hour to spend how we wish. But is it time we stopped turning the clocks back? Does the increase of road accidents and deaths merit farmers having more light to feed their Piggy's in the mornings?

My opinion? Move with the times. Huge advances in the world of agriculture, and torches, means that staying an hour ahead on BST would be far more beneficial, not just for cutting road accidents and tragedies but so that the majority of people can enjoy lighter evenings.

It's also about more light in the mornings for the kids going to school, especially the younger one, hence this continual of changes the clocks twice a year.

I might be alone in my opinion but I'd rather stay with GMT all year round, kida have to live with the darkness sooner or later and since the majority of them get dropped off and collected from school in people carriers I think thats just as much a sign of moving with the times and anything else. I also hate long bright evenings whether I'm at home our out somewhere, I like night to be night.

It's interesting how several people are raising their voices but no voting.

I voted now.

Nice to see whoever is on BBC News overnight has a nice 8 hour long shift on air!

Remember to alter your timezone in your profile, people. Server time does not change, is always on GMT so it'll be an hour out in the summer.

Around 2am they go back don't they?

This means in theory the news channels clocks would go 1.57..1.58..1.59..1.00..1.01....?

Another hour on air for the overnight presenter?

Easy way to remember....
AUTUMN FALL... SPRING FORWARD
Therefore, your clock falls back an hour in the Autumn, then leaps forward an hour in the Spring.
