I was in a real upbeat mood today untill i saw my mother! She got talking about the inevitable and what song she wants at her funeral. She wants Another one bites the dust/Queen ( weird woman). It got me thinking, if i was to die tomorrow ( stop praying TVM that's very unkind) i would like Come up and see me / make me smile by the Cockneys rebels.

I've always wanted the Neighbours theme to be played to just for people to look at each other and go wtf! But for a proper song ill have Air Supply - All Out of Love

I went to the funeral of an old radio friend of mine last autumn. I was totally okay till the curtains closed as the coffin went off for cremation and they played The Beatles, All You Need is Love.

Don't mind admitting that that was the point at which I went to pieces.

Thankfully, his wife gave me a big hug as we got outside, and said "I thought you'd like that one".

As a dedicated Peter, Paul and Mary fan since the sixties, I might go for Leaving on a Jet Plane, but will probably change my mind before it happens.

Ask me again the day before.

I don't like thinking about death, so I won't think about what song I'd have.

That would probably be my song of choice, although I might choose something a bit more random just because nobody would expect it.

Although said in humour, you will regret it when she is gone (presumably before you as no parent wants to bury their child).

My Mum had already chosen some songs for her funeral (a non-religious affair), and me and my sister chose the rest after her death. They were far more moving than empty words from a vicar or hymns that she would've never sung.

I miss my Mum :roll:

Probably "Ascent (an ending)" by Brian Eno, just as go to meet my match.

Curtis Mayfield's "(Don't Worry) If There's A Hell Below, We're All Going To Go". Though actually I don't want a funeral. I hate funerals - just chuck me on the compost heap.
