Radio Controlled Clocks

You know the kind, from Rugby or wherever it is now.

Mine's made by Klik. All good.

However, every single morning at 01:06.00, without fail, it does what appears to be a resetting of itself.

It stops at 01:06.00 exactly. Then the second hand goes through a full revolution, very quickly. After that, the hour/minute hands spin through quickly to 12:00.00.

By this time it's about 01:11. They stay there until exactly 01:13.00, at which point the second hand begins moving, and the hour/minute hands spin through to the correct time.

Any reason why this might happen? Anything to explain it? Asked on Media UK ages ago but nobody could explain it.

The odd thing is its 6 past 1 in the morning, not even a round number.

All sorts of strange things are happening between 16th February and 1st April this year, as transmission moves from Rugby to Anthorn in Cumbria.

More details here.

Get one of these and you'll always know what time it is on Metropol. The board is currently still in BST mode if you're not logged in. No point changing it now as the clocks change again this Saturday!

Does that mean an extra hour in bed, or less an hour in bed?

Doesn't explain what's going on though. It's been doing this for months.

Out of interest... (:-)) - Are you Corin?

The reason I ask is,
1. Putting URL into L/R angle brackets,
2. Capitalising the top level domain part of the site URL

(c.f. e.g. this page).

That crossed my mind as well!

Hehehe! You're an observant lot. No, I'm not Corin - but I thought I'd tease you all with his/her style of URL. :)

Or is that a double bluff?
