Well I have a trip to the other side of the world planned so that will probably benefit. For now though I think it's the savings account - I don't want to start spending money that I might have to pay back...!

If you are quick you can get it into a Mini-cash ISA and use up some of this year's tax free allowance.
As to the reasons for it; it looks suspiciously like the tuition fee level three years ago, did you manage to pay twice?
