Now I'm not a slim bloke myself but surely this is highly irresponsible:

I mean, surely alarm bells start ringing when he got to 10 stone

On the surface, I'm inclinded to agree, and think a good session in the gym is called for.

He might however just have this 'intolerance to non-processed foods' that has been mentioned by his 'parental type carer' in the video reports tonight.

There are many references on a Google search to a processed food intolerance, but I can't find any references to the opposing 'problem'.

Go figure.

Interesting, I was never aware of the condition.

Still it's worrying he was allowed to get this big at such a young age

No no, it's '14 year old weighs 8 stone'. You have it the wrong way around.

Watching the Tonight programme on the subject last night got me so annoyed with the lazy, ignorant, useless fuckwit of a mother. She came out with the lamest string of flimsy excuses you've ever heard. In particular she blamed her son's obesity on not receiving help from the local authority.

Perhaps if she got up off her fat arse and actually looked after her son properly herself rather than expecting someone else to deal with her problems, her son might not be on the verge of being taken into care.

And now she's come out with this latest excuse that he's intolerant to non-processed foods. I've never heard such utter bollocks. I'm not a doctor or a nutritionist, but I know that if you take food, mix it up and add a load of chemicals and E-numbers doesn't improve your body's reaction to it.

She's just a useless mother who sadly like too many cunts in our society today refuses to accept any personal responsibilty for anything and expects to be spoon-fed by others. She'd rather lie in bed smoking whilst her own mother has to come round to get her son ready for school.

You only have to look at the filthy state of her kitchen which looked like something off How Clean Is Your House?, to realise that a child shouldn't be living there.

In my view, the best solution would be for the child to be placed with his grandmother who seemed quite capable and responsible, whilst the usless, bone-idle waste of space of a mother can wallow in her own shit watching Jeremy Kyle.

Sadly it's true, everyone blames everyone else for their problems nowadays, it seems binge drinking is blamed on advertising, especially when humourous (John Smith's), except for the fact "humourous" ads for alcohol have been round for 3 decades at least.

Same with the banning of junk food ads, chocolate, crisps have been round since near enough the time ITV came on air & ads for McDonalds have been round since the late 70's but there wasn't any obesity problems back then.

On one report, she said she didn't want him to starve. Ridiculous...

I think a few months on basic rations and some exercise would do him the world of good (and that trampolene - which looked in serious danger of breaking!)

For the Mother to blame the "local authority" for lack of support is just an amazing statement - it makes you wonder how she has managed to retain custody of her son for so long. Why has this sub-culture developed which expects everyone else to pay (and take responsibility) for their own life choices.

I assume this "not my fault" attitude is what has prevented the boy's own sense of alarm kicking in when he realised he was so grossly obese compared to his classmates. Even a child with a basic sense of self-respect should have become worried about his own health even if his Mother had such scant regard for it.

Can't help thinking the crew filmed him for a good time hoping that would happen.

Probably, but imagine the mess of all that blubber splattering over the garden as he hit the ground with multiple G-forces.
They wouldn't have much of a documentary left, let alone an intact subject or camera equipment
