My boyfriend and I are both firmly of the belief that Valentine's Day is a load of contrived bollocks.
We go out for meals, do nice things together, buy each other presents and tell each other that we love one another throughout the year, so I fail to see the need to buy overpriced roses or dine in an overcrowded restaurant, just because it's the 14th day of February.
Load of aul shyte.

No one to be with, and don't care much for it anyway. It's a complete waste of time and money.

we're going out for a meal later - we're both off work today (i'm off all week, gf is off today) - nothing too flash (as has been said, although it is nice to go to a nice restaurant i hate the set menus they do on valentines day - i'm quite a fussy eater, so i'd rather have an indian or bangers and mash etc).
tomorrow night myself, the gf and a few friends are heading over to the king's lynn comedy club
http://www.kingslynncornexchange.co.uk/ ... TSID=13795 for an evening of love and laughter.

It's champagne, chocolates, chinese a few naughty text messages to Mr H and then the Brits for me and when Mr Hellfire gets home he can have his chinese warmed up in the microwave, i'll save him a choc or 2 and the dregs of the champers. We'll probably do something at the weekend, as he's working late tonight and i've got to start work early tomorrow.

I think many working couples save the romantic night out until the weekend when Valentine's Day falls mid-week. The naughty texts sound sweet, but for Mr Hellfire to be welcomed by a microwave-warmed-up chinese on his return from a hard days toil doesn't
