Mine would be nails on the blackboard, but apparently in the survey conducted by Salford University, the sound of vomiting is the most unpopular. Granted the sound of someone vomiting isn't nice, but more bearable than the blackboard.

A baby's cry is supposed to be one of the most annoying sounds ever.

What exactly did Salford "University" think they'd achieve by carrying out such a survey and why are my taxes paying for this kind of shite?

"HI I'M BARRY SCOTT AND I'M HERE TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE NEW CILLIT BANG GRIME AND LIME!!!!"
"IT'S MY FAVOURITE PENNY TRICK!!"
"BANG AND THE DIRT IS GONE!"
The most annoying sound of 2006 though was probably John Motson's voice saying "We could be heading for penalties" .. I was shouting at the TV "TOUCH WOOD YOU B*ST*RD!".. but he obviously didn't.
